Meytal timsit Hazan

The portrait series, photographed more than a decade ago, explores the encounter between a person and their own reflection. The camera observes an intimate moment, where subtle expressions and almost imperceptible gestures reveal the tension between outward appearance and inner worlds. The mirror here serves not only as a tool but as an active partner, inviting us to question identity, memory, and the possibility of truly seeing ourselves. Within this process, there is also a notable absence: a portrait withdrawn at the request of the sitter, who could not reconcile with the image revealed to her. Its absence resonates alongside the photographs that remain, sharpening our awareness of the fragility of self-reflection and the fine line between exposure and concealment.

She creates spaces that invite presence, listening and introspection, connecting matter and spirit, body and soul.
